Cresenciana H. Ramos

Cresenciana (Lencha) Ramos of Poteet passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009. The last of her family, she was the daughter of Cruz Gonzales and Santiago Heredia whom preceded her in death. Sisters Jauna Aldana and Francisca Davila and brothers Juan Heredia and Edward (Eddie) Heredia also preceded her. She made her life in Poteet, where she worked out in the fields with the Orta family. Lencha also worked at Roy’s Nursery for many years. She settled down in her mom’s house where she helped raise her grandchildren Priscilla, Rose-Anna, Rose-Marie, Marina, Steven, Johnny, Anissa, and Jessica great grandsons C.J. and Jeremy, and great granddaughter Alejandra. Lencha leaves behind eleven daughters; Paula Garcia, Mary Helen and Jose Fernandez, Estella and Abel Hernandez, Carmen Rodriguez, Yolanda and Pete Escobar, Lupe Ramos and Jesse Lopez, Cruz and Pete Navarro, Isabel and Ray Rodriguez, Anna and Michael Chapa, Esmeralda and Jody Bermudez, Betty and Javier Garcia and two sons Enrique and Martina Rodriguez and Martin and Rebecca Ramos. She also leaves fifty grandchildren whom she proudly raised, sixty-five great grandchildren whom she loved dearly and numerous nieces and nephews. Lencha will be dearly forever missed. She loved her family and grandchildren. She did everything to help out anyone in need. We will all miss the cookouts at her house every Saturday and Sunday. We love you. Rest in Peace, Mommy. Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM, Sunday, December 20, 2009. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
