Nestor E. Tijerina, age 85, of Jourdanton passed Monday, December 21, 2009. He is survived by sons, Nestor Tijerina Jr. of Seguin; Bacilio J. Tijerina and wife Janie of Pleasanton, Arnulfo J. Tijerina and wife Irene of Poteet, Domingo J. Tijerina and wife Elvia of Charlotte, Juan J. Tijerina of San Antonio, and Martin Tijerina of San Antonio, daughters, Antonia T. Cantu of Jourdanton, Esmeralda T. Rosa of Pleasanton, Isabel T. Saenz and husband Marvin of Pleasanton, Irene T. Harrington and husband Clifton of Jourdanton, Modesta J. Tijerina of San Antonio, Vicenta (Bessie) Escobar and husband Lee of Jourdanton, and Juana T. Renteria and husband Humberto of Grand Prairie. Nestor is also survived by his sister Manuela Trevino of San Antonio; fifty-two grandchildren; seventy-four great grandchildren, and twelve great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife M. Antonia (Jimenez) Tijerina; parents Felix and Vicenta (Espinosa) Tijerina; and sons Timoteo, Nestor and Mingo Tijerina. Pallbearers will be Timothy Joe Tijerina, Juan Carlos Tijerina, Dillian J. Garza, Alexander Ramirez, John David Cantu and Clifton Patrick Harrington. Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, Pleasanton, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Hurley Funeral Home, Pleasanton, at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 24, 2009. Interment will follow in San Ysidro Cemetery, Pleasanton.
