Cristina Gomez Cardenas, age 88, of Charlotte, Texas, passed away Friday, January 29, 2010, in Charlotte, Texas. She is survived by her husband Alvino Cardenas, Sr. of Charlotte; daughters, Consuela Alaniz & husband Esteban of San Antonio, Alicia Alaniz of San Antonio, Gloria Martinez & husband Santos of Bradner, Ohio, Ernestina Cardenas of Saginaw, Mich.; sons, Alvino Cardenas, Jr. & wife Rafala of San Antonio, Jesus Cardenas & wife Delia of San Antonio, Enrique Cardenas & wife Antonia of Saginaw, Mich., Gilbert Cardenas & wife Ofelia of Toledo and George Cardenas & wife Irene of San Marcos. She is also survived by thirty-eight grandchildren, one hundred and six great grandchildren and  twenty-nine great great grandchildren. Mrs. Cardenas is preceded in death by her parents Vicente & Solidad (Sandoval) Gomez; son, Tony Cardenas as well as two brothers, three sisters and son-in-law, Roger Alaniz, Sr. Visitation is being held at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 W. Oaklawn Rd., Pleasanton, Texas, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM Monday, February 1, 2010. Funeral service will be at St. Rose Of Lima Catholic Church in Charlotte at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Interment will be at Charlotte Community Cemetery. Anyone wishing to leave their condolences may do so at www.hurleyfuneralhome.com
