Fidel Hobrecht Zabala, Jr.
November 21, 1957 - February 26, 2010

Fidel Hobrecht Zabala, Jr, age 52 of Pleasanton, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until 9:00PM with a rosary to be recited at 7:00PM, at Hurley Funeral Home, Pleasanton, Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Andrews Catholic Church, Pleasanton, at 10:00AM, Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Fidel was born November 21, 1957 to Fidel and Emily (Hobrecht) Zabala and was a lifelong resident of Pleasanton.  He wsa proud of the work he did as a "Rodbuster" for over 35 years.  He enjoyed bar-b-quing, fishing and of course dancing.  Fidel loved to be with his son Fidel Zabala, III and be surrounded by family and friends.  He was a kid at heart. He is survived by his wife Gloria Zabala of Pleasanton; sons Fidel Zabala, III of Pleasanton, Gary Pacheco of San Antonio, Johnny Joe Zabala of San Antonio; daughters Tracey Savala and husband Steve of Bryan, Chrystal Zabala of Bryan, Carrie Benavides and husband Richard Rodriguez of Bryan, and Emily Zabala of Floresville; stepchildren James Banks, Jr of Pleasanton, Bianca Banks of Pleasanton and Skyleur Banks of San Antonio; brother Johnny Guajardo of San Antonio; sisters Eileen Hobrecht Garza and husband Oscar V. of Pleasanton, Mary Carter of Cibolo, Mary Louisa Maher of Austin and Gloria Tyler of Illinois. Fidel is also survived by grandchildren Steven, Jr, Stephanie, Melanie, Isaiah, Joshua, Kristy, Angel, Abigail, Natalie, Nathan, Victor, Jacob, Isaiah B., Mora and Christiano ; nieces and nephews Tammy Zabala and Joe Martinez of San Antonio, Gilbert A Zabala and wife Ruby of Pleasanton, Christopher J. Garza of Pleasanton, Daniel Ray Garza of Pleasanton, Henry T. Carter, Jr., Billy, Teresa, Mark, Michael, Debbie, Colleen, Caren, Richard, James, Nathan, Debbie, Mona, Danielle, Teresa, and Frank, Jr. Linda and Freddy all of San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his parents Fidel and Emily (Hobrecht) Zabala, Sr., brothers-in-law Henry T. Carter, and Jim Maher, great-niece Faith Angel Zabala, niece Pat Maher, and brother Frank Zabala.
